ATMA & KVK Wokha joint visit to New Changsu

ATMA Wokha, in collaboration with KVK Wokha, conducted a joint visit of a scientist and extension workers on January 29 to New Changsu village. 

A press release from ATMA DPD Suben Yanthan stated that the team first interacted with two SHG groups — Likya SHG and Ruphen SHG, both beneficiaries of KVK. 
The groups then shared their grievances related to procuring feeds for poultry and piggery.
 They also aired their grievances regarding human-animal conflict and swine fever which had killed a few pigs in the past months. 
A discussion on various ongoing farming activities of the groups were held jointly with the visiting team. The team assured the SHG members that they would give all possible assistance in the form of trainings, demonstrations, seed money etc.
The team also visited two green houses belonging to Likya SHG where various vegetables are being grown successfully. In the piggery unit visited by the team, Dr. Zachamo Tungoe SRF KVK vaccinated the piglets. 
The team was led by senior scientist and head KVK Wokha, Dr. Santosh Kumar Baishya and DPD ATMA, Suben Yanthan along with Dr. Zachamo Tungoe, SRF KVK Wokha and five ATMs of ATMA Wokha.
