ATMA Medziphema block conducts activities

DIMAPUR

The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Medziphema Block, conducted a series of capacity-building programs and demonstrations across Kukidolong, Socunoma, Pherima A, and Medziphema villages on May 27 and 28.
In a press release by ATMA, Medziphema Block, at Kukidolong, a farm school on oyster mushroom cultivation was inaugurated by CTO, KVK Jarnapani, Dr. Bendangla Imsong. Demonstrations on post-harvest preservation techniques and detergent preparation were conducted to promote income generation and self-reliance. While in Socunoma, training on Ericulture practices was led by BTM Chubatsur, including pest control demonstrations and distribution of yellow sticky traps and knapsack sprayers.
A vermicomposting demonstration was held at Pherima A by STINER-TFC Project Assistant, Bikram Ghimere, along with training on intercropping maize and French beans and pest mitigation for Fall Armyworm.
At Medziphema Town, a session on rural women entrepreneurship highlighted success stories and supportive government policies. Ghimere also emphasized key sectors for women-led ventures. Additional training covered king chilli pickle preparation and oyster mushroom cultivation, with distribution of starter materials.
The programs aimed to promote diversified farming practices, value addition, and entrepreneurship among local farmers and women.
