
Agricultural Technology management Agency (ATMA) blocks under Mokokchung district conducted demonstration programmes for the welfare of farmers.
Training on “preservation and value addition on ginger” for self help groups (SHGs) was conducted by ATMA Mangkolemba block on May 26.
A press release by the block stated that the training was imparted to members of Kiyonglar and Medemtsurtem SHGs with BTM, ATMA, Limawapangla Lkr as the resource person.
At the training, the resource person stressed on the importance of value addition of ginger as it can add extra income without much expenditure.
She illustrated different procedures on how to prepare value added products of ginger and how to preserve ginger.
Meanwhile, ATMA Kobulong block organised within farmer’s exposure visit to Mopungchuket village under Kobulong Block on May 21.
A press release by ATMA Kubolong block stated that the team visited Shiitake mushroom production unit with an aim to enable farmers to interact with and learn from each other for successful cultivation on shiitake mushroom production.
Resource person, shiitake progressive farmer Iminungsang shared on how he ventured into new farming technology and also imparted skills on cultivation methods and economic value.
He encouraged the farmers to venture into such type of farming activity which was cost effective and also consumed less time.
The exposure visit was attended by 25 farmers and ATMA staff.
