Demonstration programme was conducted by ATMA Mon block on January 28 at Totok Omlen with BTM Asang Ozukum and ATM Nemchaba Jamir as resource persons.
Asang Ozukum demonstrated on the cultivation practices of Okra. Land preparation, application of bio-fertilizers, spacing and sowing method were apprised to the farmers along with care and management of the crop up-to harvesting.
Nemchaba Jamir demonstrated on the application of bio-fertilizers in some common solanaceous crops. He urged the farmers to adopt environmental friendly approach such as use of bio-fertilizers and organic manures. ATMA deputy PD, Mon Subenthung Odyuo also highlighted the guidelines of formation and objective of CIGs. Altogether 22 farmers attended the programme.
