Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) conducted various training programmes, demonstrations and “Kisan Gosthi” across the state. ATMA Ongpangkong North Block, Mokokchung, conducted capacity building on “Cultivation of winter vegetable crops” and “KisanGosthi” on September 8, at Longsa village with ACTO (Agronomy), KVK, Tuensang, Samuel Anar as the resource person.
A press release by the block, stated that Anar deliberated on cultivation of winter vegetable crops and stressed on importance of nursery for various vegetable crops, nursery bed preparation and its management.
Farmers were also encouraged to adopt crop rotation practices and planting at right season and use of better varieties of seeds.
Altogether, 10 female farmers from Among FSG participated in the programme. The release added that “Kisan Gosthi”, was also organized for interaction of progressive farmers with farmers and scientist for horizontal expansion of technology. Altogether, 25 farmers attended the programme where inputs such as neem oil, pheromone traps, and bio fertilizers were distributed to all the farmers.
ATAM Tuensang Noksen block: ATMA Tuensang, Noksen Block conducted training, demonstration and “Kisan gosthi” program at Lokong village on September 6 and 8.
At the training programme, resource person Mongkucholen, A.O, trained the participates on “Package and practices for Kholar cultivation”. Demonstration was conducted on “soil and water conservation measures” where resource person SDO (Soil), Beso Chang demonstrated on making A-frame on contour line. A hand on demonstration was conducted by Wetosangla chang ATM, on field preparation and sowing for pea cultivation.
Meanwhile, on September 8 kisan Gosthi program was conducted where progressive farmer I.Yongkong shared his techniques for potato cultivation. In an interaction between farmers to farmers certain aspects related to potato were taken and discussed.
