ATMA Peren conducts six-day STRY

Six-day Skill Training for Rural Youth (STRY) programme on value addition of fruits and vegetables was conducted by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Peren from April 26 to May 1 at Jalukie town. 

A press release by ATMA Peren stated that the training aimed at imparting skill-based training to rural youths so as to create skilled manpower to promote employment in rural areas was organised by ATMA Peren in association with SAMETI, Nagaland and MANAGE, Hyderabad. 
During the course of the program, DPDs Kumui Nring and Tonikali Achumi deliberated on the importance, necessity and role of value addition in reducing post-harvest losses, improving the profitability of farmers and employment creation etc. 
The different methods and types of fruits and vegetables preservation and value additions was also elaborated in detail. 
Resource persons were BTM Imti Walling, ATM, Woshanthung Jamio, ATM, Keneingunuo Sorhie and ATM Vimetseino Zao. The trainings were followed by demonstrations and certificates were given to the 15 participants upon completion of the training course.
