ATMA Suruhuto block conducts training

Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Suruhuto block conducted a training on “water conservation method for agricultural crops” at integrated farm school in Phuye New under Zunheboto district on July 22.

In a press release, the block informed that the objective of the training was to focus on soil-water-plant-atmosphere relationships and principles of agricultural water use efficiency and water productivity.

Assistant technical manager (ATM), Kaoto advised on implementing suitable water conservation methods such as contour farming, mulching, strip cropping, mixed cropping and other methods to enhance plant growth and  ensure soil cover.

A demonstration on “cultivation of rabi crops” was conducted by BTM Livika.

Preparation of ridges with the specific spacing for the cultivation of carrot was also demonstrated. Altogether, 15 farmers attended the training programme.
