Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) has been educating/training farmers across the state on the latest machinery and technology to improve their crops.
With this objective, ATMA Chizami block conducted training and demonstration on August 26, at Zelome village with CTO KVK Phek Dr Hannah and Kelhouzakie Chielie SDHO Pfutsero and BTT convener Chizami block and ATMA functionaries as resource persons.
A press release from ATMA Chizami block informed at the programme, the resource persons highlighted on the importance of knowing proper propagation and planting time of different crops. Hands on field demonstration on production technology on millets and cabbage transplanting and value addition of millets were conducted.
In convergence with CWWS capacity building on agriculture sustainability and markets were also conducted with Nezelu Nyekha ex director CWWS as resource person.
ATMA Chumoukedima: ATMA Chumoukedima block conducted demonstration and training on “Propagation and cultivation of Orchids (Dendrobium sp)” at Naga United Village on August 26.
Master trainer and farm owner Makhila Chang taught the participants on propagating techniques, preparation of potting mixtures, disease and nutrient management to the SHG’s and farmers.
She encouraged the women trainees to take up orchid business as it requires less care and management. Meanwhile ATM Yatetla Longkumer, conducted training session on “Flowers and Foliage drying technology” for production of value added dried flower products, emphasizing on cultivating locally available flower crops. She appraised all the participants about the necessity of entrepreneurship development in rural women to enhance income generation. Small gardening tools and winter vegetable seeds were distributed.
