Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) has been conducting various trainings and demonstrations for farmers across the state.
ATMA Dimapur and UNDP Nagaland organised a range/block level consultation meeting on Jhum Resources Management Committee (JRMC) and draft Nagaland land use policy on August 23 at Niuland Town.
LONGLENG: One day training and demonstration programme was organized by ATMA Longleng at Yongam village, Tamlu block, Longleng on August 17.
In the programme, resource person, ATM Nokchensaba Kichu and BTM Moasunep trained the participants about the management of some major pest of citrus found in Longleng district.
During field demonstration, resource persons also imparted the farmers the importance of training and pruning and nutrient management in citrus orchard. Soya bean seeds were also distributed to the trainees in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Longleng. Altogether 28 farmers attended the training.
ATMA Longleng block also conducted demonstration at Bhumnyu village on August 17.
In the programme, resource person ATM Longleng block, Kitila Walling demonstrated on the use of trichoderma for the treatment of seeds and planting material. ATM Tamlu block, Nokchensaba Kichu also demonstrated on insect pest management of citrus. Altogether 11 farmers attended the programme. Soyabean seeds were also distributed to the farmers.
ZUNHEBOTO: ATMA Zunheboto under Satoi block conducted training and demonstrations programme on vermi-compost and nursery bed preparation on August 11, at Satoi.
BTM, Wellson Shitio gave a brief introduction to the 29 villagers about the functions of ATMA and the concept of the training topics. Resource person, ATM Joseph encouraged the villagers and the SHG’s emphasizing on nursery bed preparation. He also mentioned optimize biological productivity and raise organic nursery. Resource person ATM, Kakiho also demonstrated and deliberated on the benefit of practicing vermin-composting.
SATAKHA BLOCK: ATMA Zunheboto, Satakha block conducted one day training-cum -demonstration on “soil conversation” on August 12 at Sukhai village.
DPD ATMA, Zhuheboto, Tokato highlighted on the functions of ATMA and its progress to famers while ATM- ATMA, Zunheboto, Satakha block, Vinoto Yepthomi gave a PowerPoint presentation on the system of proper management and method of healthy soil conversation. ATMA Zunheboto, Satakha block, ATM Aliho Shikhu also gave a presentation on cultivation and the important use of “millet and jobstears” as a value addition crops. The programme was chaired by Kahoto Zhimomi and participated by 18 farmers.
AKULUTO BLOCK: ATMA Akuluto block Zunheboto conducted training on cultivation of ginger and demonstrations on seed bed preparation and cultivation of winter crops on August 23 at Sumi Settsu village.
BTM Zunheboto, Chubatsur Jamir demonstrated on methods of Seed Bed preparation and cultivation of winter crops. Seeds and bio fertilisers were distributed to the farmers. BTM, Akuluto block, Aolemla Kichu also spoke on cultivation of ginger. Altogether 18 participants attended the programme.
KOHIMA: ATMA Kohima, Chunlikha block conducted demonstration on cultivation of Kholar on August 22 at Chunlikha village with BTM Kekhriesielie, ATM Sinlo Khing and ATM Chenibo Seb as resource persons.
TSEMINYU & CHUNLIKHA BLOCK: ATMA Kohima of Tseminyu and Chunlikha block conducted Block Farmers Advisory Board (BFAC) meeting at SDAO Tseminyu on August 21. In the meeting, the house decided to implement the programme on the need based for the particular area which has been appraised by the BFAC members of the respective villages/area.
SAKSHI BLOCK: ATMA officials (BVSC & AH) BTM, Dr. Moisen Puchem, ATM, Chingshak and ATM, Henaok visited Sakshi block on August 18 and conducted demonstrations on “wound care in farm animals”, “preparation of poultry litter bed” and “semi-intensive pig housing’. Chemically treated soybeans were also distributed to the participants.
