Awareness campaign on HIV and AIDS, TB in Kohima

The 1st phase of New India@75 awareness campaign on HIV and AIDS, TB and blood donation for the selected six schools and colleges each under Kohima district was carried out on September 22. 

The awareness was conducted at Alder College and virtual sessions with Model Higher Secondary School.

The programme was organised under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organisation, Ministry of H&FW, Government of India. 

Resource persons of the programme were Akaba Jamir Dr. District TB Officer Kohima; Sentimongla Tsudir District Program Officer District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU) Kohima; Bendang Imsong chairman VBDA Kohima & Coordinator (Nagaland & Arunachal Pradesh), Kripa foundation; Dr. Kezhasino Meru Dr. Medical Officer DoTs Plus site and Alipoker director NSACS & executive member VBDA Kohima.

According to DIPR, during the 1st phase, online competitions under the themes: HIV, Blood Donation and TB in four concepts i.e “paint your thought – mask painting/face painting”, “film your thought – video competition” “voice your thought – spoken word competition” and “publicise your thought – poster making “ will be conducted.  

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for each theme and each four concepts will be awarded with prize money and certificate.

The online competition for the New India @75 awareness campaign will be based on the three themes (HIV,TB and Blood Donation) having four different kinds of competition/activities (two each for the selected schools and colleges of Phase 1 campaign): 

For schools – “Paint your thought”: Mask painting/ Face painting on HIV, TB and Blood Donation. “Voice your thought”: One minute spoken word competition on HIV, TB and Blood Donation. A student can submit entries on all three themes if interested.

         For colleges: “Publicize your thought”: Poster making competition on HIV, TB and Blood Donation. “Film your thought”: One minute video competition on HIV, TB and Blood Donation. A student can submit entries on all three themes if interested. The video for voice your thought and film your thought should be recorded in a mobile or any good video recording device in a landscape mode (MP4 format). 

For paint your thought, students can paint a mask or their face according to the three given themes and submit a soft copy of the photo before September 30.

Entry forms can be collected from the respective school/college authorities.
