
As part of 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) activities which are being conducted 75 weeks before August 15, 2022, Kohima district level for implementation of New India@75 activities conducted a virtual awareness drive on HIV & AIDS, TB and blood donation for students of Corragio School and Dr. Neilhouzhü GHSS, Seikhazou in Kohima on September 9.
According to a DIPR report, the subcommittee for awareness drive led by its convenor, Ainato Yeptho deputy director NSACS & president voluntary blood donors association, Kohima organised the first phase of awareness drive for students under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of H&FW.
During the virtual awareness drive, New India@75 awareness and online competition were shared in the opening remakes followed by three sessions.
First session on HIV & AIDS was imparted by resource person DIS, DAPCU, Vituozolie Kuotsu while the second session on Tuberculosis (TB) was conducted by resource person DTO Kohima, Dr. Akaba and the third session on importance of blood donation by deputy director NSACS, Ainato Yeptho.
In another awareness drive with Dr. Neilhouzhü GHSS, Counsellor, MICTC, NSACS, Aoyangla spoke on HIV & AIDs while senior medical officer, DOTs Plus site, Dr. Kezhasino Meru spoke on TB and medical officer, blood bank, Dr. Avila on importance of blood donation.
