Under the directive of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, CMO Zunheboto organised an awareness programme under the theme, “Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it, live longer” on the occasion of World Hypertension Day at Zunheboto Lotha Baptist Chruch on May 26.
A press release by CMO Zunheboto, informed that, DPO (NCD), Dr. Mhonchan N Kithan, who spoke at the event, highlighted on the symptoms and causes of hypertension, and explained the importance of investigation and preventive measures to be taken for hypertension.
He pointed that uncontrolled high blood pressure could lead to health complications such as heart failure, stroke, kidney problem and eye problem. Dr. Kithan further encouraged the participants to go for regular blood pressure checkup, conduct more physical activity, decrease intake of salt and avail proper treatment on time. The programme was attended by pastor and church members.
