Awareness on PCPNDT Act

Wokha district administration and DLCW-MSK in collaboration with department of Health & Family Welfare and SAKHI- One Stop Centre (OSC), Wokha organised an awareness programme on Pre Conception & Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and free medical camp under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Old Ralan on February 13.

According to DIPR report, the awareness programme was organised as part of the year long activities under BBBP 2021 to be conducted in the district. Around 200 participants took part in the programme. During the programme, baby kits to new born girl child were distributed and sanitary pads were also distributed to the participants. Besides free medical check up was conducted and free medicines were also distributed to the participants.

SDO (C) Ralan, who chaired the programme thanked the team for visiting the area and conducting the awareness programme and hoped that such kind of initiatives will definitely benefit the area people.

Advocate Thungbeni Kikon, Case Worker OSC enlightened the gathering about the activities of One Stop Centre- Sakhi and the various beneficial activities relating to the welfare of women and girl child.

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha C.W. Tungoe briefed the participants about the Pre Conception& Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and the on-going COVID-19 vaccination in the State. CMO also encouraged all to avail the COVID-19 vaccine to free from Corona virus. He further appealed all to follow the guidelines and SOPs even after taking the vaccine.
