Awareness on prevention of teenage pregnancy

District Administration and District Hub for empowerment of women (DHEW) Longleng in collaboration with Nagaland Aids Control Society (NSACS), Longleng conducted an awareness program on prevention of Teenage Pregnancy on April 27, at Lempong convention hall Longleng.
According to DIPR report, the resource person of the prgramme was DSRC Counsellor District Hospital Longleng, Lithei Phom.
Lithei in her speech emphasized on the topics: “Consequences- physiologically, psychologically and socially Prevention, Health Education, Life Skill Education at school, home and church”. She said the main reason of teenage pregnancy was lack of inadequate sex education. DMC District Hub for empowerment of women Longleng, P. Phungla Phom, in her introductory note, encouraged the students to take part in program seriously and to think of themselves as most privileged and fortunate to be part of the program. SFL District Hub for empowerment of women Longleng, Afen Phom chaired the program. Students from various schools of Longleng town from classes 9 to 12 attended the awareness program.
