A one day awareness program on Sakhi (One Stop Centre) and Women Helpline 181 was held at Japfu Christian College, Kipfuzha, Kigwema on November 17. The event was jointly organised by Women Cell and Sexual Harassment Cell (JCC).
Chothalu Phesao, senior call respondent shared about the importance of help for women in distress. She emphasized on 181 toll free service for women in distress which is available 24/7. Repabenla Longkumer, case worker, OSC also shared about one stop centres which give counselling, medical help, legal assistance and police protection for women in distress who seek help at the one stop centres. Drama Club JCC performed a short play on sexual harassment and what people can do about it.
The program began with a prayer by Vizapo Kikhi. The program was chaired by Thepfusatuo-u Pienyu and Dr. Visakhonu Hibo, principal JCC, offered the closing prayer.
