Awareness on smart meters, rooftop solar held at Peren

DIMAPUR: The Office of the Sub Divisional Officer (Electrical), Peren Electrical Sub Division, Department of Power organised an awareness programme on Smart Meter Implementation and the Rooftop Solar Scheme at the Peren Town Council Hall on July 4.
A DIPR report informed that the programme brought together government officials, technical experts and members of the public to discuss the benefits of smart metering and rooftop solar, both integral to modernising the power sector and promoting renewable energy.
Resource persons from ANVIL conducted technical presentations on smart meters, highlighting features such as accurate billing, real time electricity consumption monitoring and improved energy management. Representatives from Elmechent Enterprise and A&D Solar explained the Rooftop Solar Scheme, outlining subsidies, installation procedures and long term savings from producing clean electricity.
Speaking on the occasion, Robin, ADC Peren; Er. Tsiamchi Ndang, AE (Electrical), Peren; and Mireulung, chairman of Peren Town Council encouraged residents to actively participate in the initiatives, stressing that smart metering and solar energy would contribute to efficient electricity usage, reduced costs and sustainable development.
The programme was chaired by Er. Kidosap, SDO (Electrical), Peren. Invocation was offered by Haiku Nza, pastor, Peren Town Baptist Church. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Nguyunglo Kesen, JE (Electrical), Peren.
