Tuensang District Legal Services Authority organized an awareness programme on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 at CTS Conference Hall in Tuensang on September 23.
At the event, ADC Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, focusing on “Remedies for Hazardous Waste,” urged the public to segregate hazardous waste from other types of waste for proper disposal through the Town Council. Tungoe also emphasized the importance of changing the mindset and taking the initiative to segregate waste at home by using three separate bins for waste disposal. He also encouraged the public to collect plastic bottles, as the Town Council was willing to purchase.
Retainer lawyer, Antimangyang Chang provided insights into the Act on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016, enhancing the understanding of the regulations among the attendees. The programme saw active participation from representatives from all wards in Tuensang Town. The event was chaired by panel lawyer TDLSA, Yemlongchaba.
