Awareness on ‘World Wetland Day’ in Wokha

In commemoration of “World Wetland Day”, Doyang Plantation Division and Wokha Forest Division in collaboration with Eco-warriors Nagaland organised an awareness programme at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Doyang on Wednesday.


Eco-warriors team members led by Rhontsutung L Odyuo, guided students in a cleanliness drive and plastic audit, emphasising the criticality of waste management in handling plastic hazards to the ecosystem.


A drawing competition, centered around the themes, “Wetland and Human Wellbeing” and “Wetland Ecosystem,” engaged students across three categories i.e. Class 3 -5, Class 6 -7 and Class 8 -9.


During the event, Eco-warriors team presentation, Akhrieno Khamu shed light on the significance of wetlands and their ecosystems.
A total of 176 participants, including teachers and Eco-warriors, actively participated in the programme.
