St. Edmund Higher Secondary School (SEHSS), Dimapur, in partnership with Can Youth, organized a one-day awareness programme on June 27 at the school campus. The event focused on key issues affecting young people, including tobacco prevention, menstrual hygiene, anti-bullying, and mental health.
The programme featured three sessions: Session 1: Led by District Nodal Officer, Dimapur, Dr. N. Moa Jamir, and Psychologist, NTCP Dimapur, Imkumla Aier, who spoke on the harmful effects of tobacco and the importance of early prevention.
Session 2: Founder and chief functionary of Can Youth, Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei, discussed bullying and mental well-being, stressing that “Silence kills a person’s growth.” He encouraged students to express their thoughts freely and proposed setting up a “Helping Buddy Box” and “Young Support Group” within the school to provide a safe space for students.
Session 3: Program manager, Can Youth, Nuyielu Nyekha, highlighted the importance of menstrual hygiene.
