An awareness programme on “Young Voters” was held at Kohima Science College auditorium, Jotsoma which was attended by students of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma and Sazolie College, Jotsoma on February 23.
According to DIPR report, deputy secretary & OSD to CEO, Kikumsungla Jamir has appealed to the students not to waste but to cast their valuable vote in a fair manner and also to inspire and influence others to make the right choice.
State Icon for Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Aseto Zao requested the students to come out and cast their vote to usher in a better future and to say “No to Note, Yes to Vote”.
Katiba Longkumer and H. Viputo Yeptho from Kohima Science College shared their opinions on elections in Nagaland and stated that, one’s right to vote is a constitutional right and urged the participants to exercise their franchise for uplifting the common people.
The students who were eligible and preparing to cast their votes were called on to ponder before they cast their valuable vote so that their participation will bring the much-needed change in the society.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor, Zoology, Dr. Ruokuovikho Dominic, who also acknowledged the Election department for the sensitisation programme.
On the occasion, the students were administered election pledge by Deputy Secretary & OSD to CEO.
