Awareness Programme under MRMA conducted at Tenyiphe-II

Awareness Programme under Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) was conducted at Tenyiphe-II, Chümoukedima, on August 21, with the objective of sensitizing farmers on importance of rearing house disinfection and hygiene in sericulture.
The programme was graced by District Sericulture Officer, Mayangjal Walling, Scientist-B, Dr. Anil Kumar S.T, and Supervisor and Farm In-charge, Pete Medoni.
Dr. Kumar emphasized the crucial role of hygiene and disinfection in preventing diseases in silkworm rearing houses and advised farmers to use disinfectants properly and follow recommended protocols to ensure healthy rearing practices and better cocoon production, while Mayangjal Walling, urged farmers to adopt systematic hygiene measures and follow scientific practices for sustainable sericulture. She also highlighted that maintaining cleanliness in rearing houses was a simple yet effective step towards disease management and higher profitability.
The event witnessed active participation from local eri farmers, who interacted with experts and gained practical insights into improving their rearing practices.
