Awareness workshop on POSH Act at DH&FW

Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW), organized awareness workshop on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013, on April 22 at the Directorate’s Conference Hall in Kohima.

The workshop was conducted with the initiative of Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) DHFW to promote awareness and in compliance with the POSH Act 2013.


In a press release by IEC Bureau, DHFW, informed that the session featured detailed presentation by resource person Sunjib Rana, B. Com, LLM, advocate and retainer lawyer with the Kohima District Legal Services Authority, who highlighted the legal safeguards and responsibilities under POSH Act and encouraged active participation in creating a safe work environment for all.


To ensure inclusive participation, the workshop was conducted in three shifts, drivers and Grade IV staff (Regular & Adhoc), Ministerial Staff (Regular & Adhoc), and officials from NHM, NSACS, NHP, AYUSH, Drug Control, Pharmacist Cell, IDSP, E.E. Wing, NHPS, IEC, and Food Safety.


The programme was chaired by additional director, DHFW, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, invocation by joint director, DHFW, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, and vote of thanks by joint director, DHFW, Dr Arenla Walling.


The department through the press release reiterated its commitment to promote respectful and harassment free workplace through continued awareness and sensitization efforts.
