Anganwadi Centre (AWC) building of Aboi ‘A’ under the Aboi Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project, donated and constructed by Langsa Hills Welfare Society, Lampong, Sheanghah, Mon, was inaugurated on January 9. According to a DIPR report, the building was inaugurated by director of social welfare department by Tosheli Zhimomi, who thanked the donors for their philanthropic initiative.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Aboi, Phuleshe Yepthomi urged field officials and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) to perform their duties diligently. The programme was chaired by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Aboi, Limasangla and a short note on the construction of the Anganwadi Centre was given by assistant director social welfare department, Wango Langsym, who is also a founding member of Langsa Hills Welfare Society; vote of thanks was delivered by supervisor Aboi ICDS project, Belong Konyak. A coordination meeting with the director and senior officers of the social welfare department engaging with the Anganwadi Workers from Aboi and Tobu ICDS projects was also held after the inaugural programme.
During the meeting, Tosheli Zhimomi emphasized the crucial role played by Anganwadi workers in ICDS program implementation. She urged them to be sincere and diligent, working in convergence with other line departments at the grassroots level. Senior officers of the department briefed the AWWs on various programs under the ICDS umbrella. The meeting was chaired by CDPO Tizit, Amilo Yanthan, welcome address was delivered by DPO, ICDS Mon, Tsalito Sangtam, and the vote of thanks by CDPO Tobu, Hemping.
