Angami Women Organisation (AWO) has lauded Nagaland Police for arresting drug kingpin Baharudin and his associates during recent operations. AWO president Neithono Sothu and general secretaryShyien Vihienuo in a press release said drug menace and its widespread availability was a major concern, which directly affected the family and the society at large. They claimed that many families were badly affected by the menace of drugs and other intoxicants.
They also highly appreciated the proactive initiatives and subsequent achievements of the police in cracking down on persons dealing with and possessing narcotics and psychotropic substances, India made foreign liquor (IMFL), and arms and ammunitions under the committed leadership of director general of police (DGP) Rupin Sharma.
In this fight for a drug-free society, wherein intensive operations were still going on, they assured full support of the AWOto the government agencies and requested the general public to cooperate and assist the law enforcing authorities so that a brighter future for the children could be created.
