
Angami Youth Organisation conclave and Khriekesa Pelikro Day was held on November 22 at Rusoma village with class-1 contractor, Vilelie Khamo as chief guest.
In a press statement, AYO president Neinguvotuo Krose stated that chief guest in his speech, expressed appreciation to Angami Public Organisation (APO) and AYO for their contributions to the society and hoped that they will continue to strive and work for the common good of all the Nagas.
Khamo also challenged the youth to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship and said that only lazy people stay poor. Stating that Nagaland has excess employment in the government sector and that this trend was not sustainable, he stressed on the importance of quality education, skilled labour, and skill development and exhorted the youth to seek for these qualities. “Make these qualities your identity”, he said.
Other speakers, who exhorted the youth included, Dr. Kepelhusie Terhüja, president APO, KT Vilie, vice president APO, and Theyiekielie Tachü, the first president of AYO.
Commendations were also given out to the members of the Khriekesa Pelikro (Community First Responders), who have been trained by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority and department of Civil Defence and Home Guard, for their dedication and selflessness in times of disaster and natural calamity.
