Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has expressed concern over what it described as “disturbing trend” in Kohima, where business establishments and roadside vendors were “randomly” opened on Sundays in violation of the directives issued by the municipal council and district administration.
AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu and press secretary Thepfusavi Suohu reiterated that shops/businesses within Angami jurisdiction to be closed on Sundays except those permitted by municipal council and district administration. AYO said it would conduct checking in collaboration with various youth organisations and stakeholders and “befitting course of action shall be initiated on the defaulters.”
AYO conveyed its appreciation to all stakeholders for successfully implementing the Sunday closure of shops/business establishments in Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts.
