AYSA-D Presidential Trophy underway

Northern Angami Youth & Sports Association (NAYSA) Group D conducted Chiechama Chapter of the 1st Presidential Trophy 2024 at Chiechama Local Ground, here on Saturday.
Special guest of the event, president, Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, in his address, commended NAYSA-D for developing a culture of sports at the grassroots level that would push the youngsters forward.


He encouraged the youngsters to take advantage of the platform provided by the association. He also urged the players to concentrate in one discipline and asked the youngsters to be specific and pursue their talent with utmost sincerity and dedication.


Yhome maintained that NAYSA-D was fortunate as chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who also heads Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) including Abu Metha, secretary general NOA, also were from this constituency.


“Let us take advantage of the opportunities” he said and urged upon the sports lovers to give their best and bring laurels to the community.
Further, Yhome challenged the participants of the 1st Presidential Trophy to keep up the spirit of sportsmanship till the conclusion of the league tournament by November.


Around 50 youth joined the Dart’s theory and practical session, conducted by Team One Nagaland (TON) and supported by Dartskart, Fun Tree Crew and Zumvü Printex.
Earlier, NAYSA-D assistant general secretary Neilalie Pielie chaired the ceremony while welcome address was delivered by NAYSA- D general secretary Kezhangulie Kire.


The event began with an invocation by pastor, CRC, Chiechama, Rev Levi V Rio and Avizo Metha presented a special number.
Vote of thanks was proposed by NAYSA-D wrestling secretary Tseivilie Sopfünuo while Thepfuneizo Metha and Neizokhrienuo Metha compered the ceremony.

Tsiemekhuma Bawe won by walkover against Nachama.
