Bailey Baptist College, Wokha, is hosting its week-long “Milange, Whoop de Do Week 2026” from October 12 to 17 at the college campus, bringing together students from different institutions for sports, cultural and creative activities.
The inaugural programme was attended by deputy commissioner Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, as the special guest, and WDSA chairman and MSME (PCI), Yanrenthung Humtsoe, as the guest of honour. The DC formally launched the event by bowling the cricket ball.
Addressing the gathering, K. Mhathung Tsanglao encouraged students to maintain discipline, punctuality and respect for teachers while developing team spirit and exploring their individual talents. Emphasising that education should help shape better human beings, he urged students to remain open to guidance, observe their surroundings and cultivate the habit of learning something new every day. He also congratulated the organisers for bringing
students from different institutions together and wished them an enjoyable and meaningful experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Yanrenthung Humtsoe encouraged students to participate in at least one activity and use the week-long programme to explore their talents, discover new interests and develop their personalities. He described college life as an important period for personal growth, urging students to step away from books for a while and engage in creative activities to build confidence, enhance their abilities and shape their future.
Describing Milange as a gathering that brings together sports, culture, music and other activities, he said the college had invited students from other institutions to make the programme more inclusive.
Various activities, including sports, singing, literature and other recreational events, have been lined up for the week. (Correspondent)
