Nagaland’s noted sustainable fashion designer and entrepreneur, Bambi Kevichusa, has been conferred the prestigious Aalekh Foundation Women Achievers’ Award, joining a distinguished group of 20 women from across the country recognised for their pioneering contributions and transformative impact in their respective fields.
The awards were presented by former Supreme Court judge, Justice S.K. Kaul, and former NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant, at a ceremony that celebrated trailblazing women leaders from diverse sectors.
Kevichusa was honoured for her visionary work in combining couture fashion with sustainability and Naga-rooted aesthetics. Through her fashion label Bambi K and her concept store Windfall in Dimapur, she has consistently championed eco-conscious fashion while preserving and promoting the cultural and artisanal heritage of the region.
Her distinctive bridal couture and sustainable designs have not only redefined Northeast Indian fashion but also gained global attention, with her collections featured at fashion events in Paris, Istanbul, Hanoi, and New Delhi.
Bambi’s work was also showcased at the prestigious Horniman Museum in London, further amplifying her role as a creative ambassador for the Northeast.
