Ban on pigs liftedin Bhandari

The ban on slaughtering, import, export, and transportation of pigs, piglets, and pork from Merapani has been lifted by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, through an order dated October 16, 2025. According to a DIPR report, the ban, which was imposed in August 2025, has been revoked in the interest of the public based on the recommendation of Dr. Kikali G. Sumi, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon at the Quarantine Check Post, Merapani.
