In continuation of its earlier order, Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) administrator and ADC, Dr Kuzonyi Wideo has reiterated the ban on firecrackers and Single Use Plastics in Chümoukedima town jurisdiction.
In order to ensure compliance, the administrator said that there would be regular checking and patrols and violators would be subjected to fines and penalties.
In this regard, all residents have been encouraged to celebrate in a safe ad eco-friendly manner by exploring alternative ways to mark the occasion such as lighting lamps, participating in cultural events etc.
Further, all ward GBs/chairmen have been directed to disseminate information and make wide publicity for public involvement and participation to make Chümoukedima town SUP and pollution free, and to ensure strict enforcement of ban on use of fire crackers.
