Banana fibre craft workshop concludes in Mokokchung

DIMAPUR

The month-long Design Development Workshop on Banana Fibre Craft, organized at the District Industries Centre (DIC), Mokokchung, concluded successfully on July 23. The workshop, which began on June 24, was inaugurated by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Verma.
According to a DIPR report, a total of 30 artisans participated in the 25-day intensive training programme focused on enhancing design capabilities using banana fibre. The initiative was jointly organized by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Kohima, under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in collaboration with DIC Mokokchung.
The closing ceremony was attended by EAC probationer Sangtsui, and Kato T. Aomi, who commended the dedication of the trainees and organizers. The programme was supervised by empanelled designer Ashwani Singh and Master Trainer Alila, who guided the participants throughout the training.
