Baptist High School Tening celebrates golden jubilee

Baptist High School Tening celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee under the theme, “Honoring His Glorious Deeds”, on October 20 at the school premises. The celebration was graced by Namri Nchang MLA as special guest.


In his speech, Namri congratulated the school’s governing body, headmaster, staff, and students on reaching a significant milestone. Nchang acknowledged the school’s historic journey, which began under Zeliangrong Baptist Association and later transitioned to Liangmai Baptist Association in 1984. He paid tribute to the pioneers who faced many challenges during the early days and praised their dedication and service, which has led to 50 golden years of success.


He commended the school for providing opportunities to young men and women, enabling them to contribute to the betterment of society. Several other speakers, including ZBCC secretary Rampaukopoing Michui, executive director ABCC Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, and Coordinator School Ministry NBCC Imlongchaba, shared their thoughts at the program.


The event was chaired by Assistant Headmistress Khiubunlun Nchang, and Headmaster BHST Kenkhambo delivered the welcome address. A souvenir was released, and a brief history was presented by executive secretary LBA Rev. Kitanwi Chewang, while NK Joseph Zeliang, chairman of the planning committee, delivered the vote of thanks.


The celebration included the unveiling of a jubilee monolith and a dedicatory prayer by Rev. Kamwang Rentta. Meanwhile, a program on the foundation layout of the School Auditorium and an extravaganza were held in the afternoon with Superintending Engineer (Agriculture) and president LBA Er. Achakbo Newmai as special guest.
