Pinnacle Skills organised a Project Culmination cum Certification and Kit Distribution programme for the fifth batch of the Self-Employed Barber Project at Sematila Training Centre, Dimapur on July 23.
At the event, Chief Executive of Pinnacle Skills, Dr. Yan Murry, shared the journey of the project, which successfully trained 100 candidates from across Nagaland. A total of 28 candidates from the latest batch received certificates and toolkits to help them set up shops in their villages and sub-divisions.
Special guest, Savio Visa, director, Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, encouraged candidates to start their entrepreneurial journey with humility and discipline. He highlighted the low investment and high potential of barbering as a sustainable livelihood.
District Employment Officer, Gideon Sumi, emphasised that skill training was invaluable and urged trainees to build good client relationships. Principal of Government Women ITI Chumukedima, Er. Netenba Ajem, advised candidates to further upgrade their skills through the National Skills Qualification Framework.
Er. H Alongse, joint director of the department, also attended the programme. The event concluded with closing remarks by Executive Director (Training & HR) of Pinnacle Skills, Jenny Haining Murry.
