DIMAPUR: Minister for NPWD (Housing and Mechanical Engineering), P. Bashang Chang, visited Tuensang District Hospital on June 19 and held a review meeting with the Senior Medical Officer and hospital administration.
The discussions focused on the availability of medical facilities, quality of healthcare services, and effective implementation of government schemes to ensure accessible and quality treatment for patients.
The visit also coincided with the first death anniversary of his late father, Phanglou Chang. Accompanied by family members, the Minister marked the occasion by interacting with patients and healthcare workers, offering words of encouragement and support, reflecting his father’s legacy of compassion and humanitarian service.
This was the Minister’s fifth visit to the hospital since his election in 2023. He toured patient cabins, dialysis centre, general wards, maternity and pediatric wards, personally inquiring about patients’ well being and extending prayer support.
Concluding the programme, Bashang Chang assured hospital authorities of his continued support in strengthening healthcare services in the district, reaffirming his commitment to improving medical infrastructure and addressing resource requirements for enhanced patient care.
Senior Medical Officer of Tuensang District Hospital, Dr. Senilo Magh, expressed gratitude to P. Bashang Chang, and his family for choosing the hospital as the venue for a meaningful observance. He appreciated the gesture and acknowledged the positive impact of the visit on both patients and healthcare personnel.
Hospital staff also welcomed the minister’s presence, noting that his personal interactions and concern for patients provided encouragement and boosted morale among healthcare workers.
