DIMAPUR: Minister for Housing and Mechanical Engineering, PWD, P. Bashangmongba Chang visited landslide affected areas along National Highway 202 near IOC Petrol Pump on August 12, 2026.
According to a DIPR report, during his visit, Bashangmongba thanked and appreciated the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Tuensang for its timely intervention and evacuation of families from the affected areas, which helped prevent loss of life in the district. He described the incident as unfortunate and conveyed his sympathy to the affected families. The minister was accompanied by officials from the District Administration, DDMA Tuensang, HoDs from line departments and party workers.
Earlier in the morning, the minister flagged off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ bike rally from Parade Ground, Tuensang.
