BBBP state task force meeting held in Kohima

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)-State Task Force meet was held in the conference hall of chief secretary on August 29, chaired by chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar.
Mission director, State Resource Centre for Women, Daisy Mezhur as ambassador for girl-child gave introduction to education and participation of girl-child under the motto, “let’s support a future that’s ready to take off.” 
CDPO & nodal officer for BBBP, Tauhong Phom gave an overview of the activities of the District & Block Task Force of the FY 2016-17.  He informed that under the banner of BBBP on international day of the girl child celebration in Longleng, eleven new born babies were given cash awards, while nine girls from government schools were felicitated for meritorious academic excellence. 
The plantation drive “one tree for one student” was also highlighted. Tauhong also informed that the Adolescent Girls Club has been launched in three schools in Longleng. Juliana Medom, asst. state coordinator highlighted the state level activities till date.  
She also informed that with the convergence with Pooorna Shakti Kendra and Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club, the state level activities has been continuing despite non release of funds.
