Higher Education & Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along called upon the principals of the government colleges to envision and curate the future of Nagaland, to be inclusive in the channel of development and empowerment.
He was speaking as the guest of honour at the annual conference of the Government Colleges Principals under Higher Education Department on October 19 at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima. Along said the state and its people can only prosper if the right human resources are developed and challenged the principals and teachers to build the community to be not only literate but to be educated.
The minister maintained that among the many professions and great personalities, teachers are the greatest influencers and they have the power to mould, curate and envision in making a good society, a good family, a good state and a prosperous nation.
Stating that there is something which require money to get it done and also there are something which can be done through other forms, he urged upon the principals to connect and work together with the community.
The minister handed over certificates of appreciation to five mentor college- Kohima Science College Jotsoma, Kohima College, Fazl Ali College Mokokchung, Dimapur Government College and Patkai Christian College for successfully mentoring the concerned colleges for NAAC Assessment & Accreditation in the state.
Earlier, the inaugural session was chaired by higher education director, Dr. A. Nshoga while additional director Dr. K. Nishena Nekha delivered welcome address. Vote of thanks was proposed by joint director (Administration), Higher Education, Menuokholie Kire. The session was followed by business hour.
