Beley Easter and Naten Lemba were crowned as Miss and Mr Eastern respectively during the recently held 2nd edition of Miss Eastern Nagaland and 1st edition of Mr Eastern Nagaland coinciding with the Aoleang Festival at Mon Town.
In the Miss category, Chingkela T Sangtam and Polem Pangmei (Konyak) were placed in the first and second runners-up positions respectively.
Similarly, in the Mr category, Thejoy H Phom and Angnyei Taulem L (Konyak) were placed in the first and second places respectively.
22-year-old Beley from Konyak community is a BA graduate from Unity College, Dimapur while 18-year-old Naten from Chang community is a student of Patkai Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima.
The two winners walked away with cash prizes of Rs 50,000 and gift hampers worth Rs 30,000 respectively.
The first and second runners-up received Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
Subtitle winners are: Miss congeniality – Naonglemla W Chang; Best Rampwalk – Chingkela T Sangtam; Mr Physique – Bangloy W Konyak and Mr Congeniality – Angnyei Taulem L (Konyak).
The event was graced by Y. Mankhao MLA, DC Mon, presidents of ENWO, KU among other officials.
The event saw a huge response as it was held alongside the Aoleang Festival at local ground, Mon Town. The event was organised by Society for Promotion of Oriental Arts and Aesthetics (SPOAA).
