Bendangtoshi Longkumer, Managing Director, NIDC and OSD, Industries & Commerce, department passed away on Tuesday at New Delhi after a brief illness. He was 57. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. Late Bendang is the husband of Monalisa Changkija, Editor of Nagaland Page. According to family sources, the body of late Bendang Longkumer will arrive Dimapur on Wednesday by flight.

CM: Nagaland chief minister, TR Zeliang, has expressed grief over the demise of Bendang Longkumer, managing director of NIDC & OSD, Industries & Commerce, and said his passing away was a great loss.
In a condolence message, the chief minister said late Bendang Longkumer was a sincere, friendly and peace-loving man. Zeliang also described him as a fair, efficient and charismatic bureaucrat, adding that he served the government with dedication. His immense contribution would ever be cherished, Zeliang said.
Meanwhile, Zeliang extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Dr. Shürho: NPF president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, MLA, mourned the sudden demise of Bendang Longkumer, saying his demise has been a great loss to the government and society and his absence would be felt most by his departmental and bureaucratic colleagues.
In a condolence message, Dr. Shürhozelie said he had met late Bendang on numerous occasions and found him to be a thorough gentleman, soft spoken and totally dedicated to his duties. His services to the Industries & Commerce department were most pronounced and the government had made use of his experience and expertise in various important capacities all these years, he said.
Dr. Shürhozelie also said late Bendang was a man of few words, but those few words were of great value in many ways, adding that the government derived maximum benefits out of his contributions. Dr. Shürhozelie conveyed his heartfelt condolences to bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty grant them solace and comfort in this hour of grief. In a condolence message, Editor and staff of Nagaland Post described late Bendang as a dedicated and sincere officer, saying his contribution towards the state’s development was monumental and would always be remembered by all.
“At this hour of grief, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that Almighty God grant the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss. We also pray that the soul of late Bendang be at peace with our Heavenly Father,” they said.
NPA: Nagaland Press Association (NPA) has expressed deep pain and sadness over the untimely passing away of Bendangtoshi Longkumer, and prayed for comfort and strength to be with the bereaved family members at this time of their grief and loss.
In a condolence message, NPA said the association along with the media fraternity was pained by this loss, adding that words were not enough to tell how much the media fraternity in Nagaland and beyond were pained at this loss of a friend and well-wisher. “We will miss the love and warmth that Bendang shared with our fraternity members,” NPA stated.
Further, NPA also conveyed deepest condolence to Monalisa and their children and prayed that God would be with the family.
EM: Eastern Mirror has mourned the passing of Bendangtoshi Longkumer and prayed that God would grant solace and strength to the grieving family.
