Immediately after the premature repatriation of Dr. D.K. Bhalla (IAS:1986:NL), speculations were doing the rounds that he would be made the chief secretary of Nagaland.
Bhalla served as Secretary, Lok Sabha Secretariat, but the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet approved the premature repatriation of Dr. D.K. Bhalla, to his cadre with immediate effect. This was also stated in an official communiqué issued by the Press Information Bureau on November 28.
According to reports, Dr. Bhalla may be made Nagaland chief secretary. The incumbent chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar (IAS:1987:NL) may be brought to the Centre as an Additional Secretary.
