Bhandari SDPDB reviews power supply, livestock farming and census

BHANDARI, Jul 16 (NPN): The Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) Bhandari held its meeting at the conference hall of the Summer House-cum-Guest House on July 16 under the chairmanship of ADC & vice chairman SDPDB Bhandari, Longasen Lotha.
The meeting reviewed previous minutes and deliberated on issues concerning electricity and power supply in the sub-division.
According to a DIPR report, the house discussed and approved schemes under the LADP 2026-2027 for 40 A/C Bhandari, recommending them to the government for final approval.
Presenting a report on the Livestock Insurance Scheme, VAS Quarantine Check Post, Merapani, Dr. Kikali G. Sumi, informed that surveillance and monitoring activities, along with awareness programmes, were successfully conducted in June 2026. She said the initiative aimed to encourage farmers to adopt scientific livestock management, practice bio-security measures and reduce economic losses from disease outbreaks.
She also highlighted the number of livestock insured under the National Livestock Mission Scheme.
SDO (R&B) PWD, Er. Elithung Ovung, apprised the house that construction work at the Nagaland Foothill Road had been officially completed, except for rectification works in certain patches.
These include bridge work, approach slab, toe wall and river apron works, which are currently in progress.
ADC Longasen Lotha lauded the efforts of officials engaged in the Census 2027 exercise within Bhandari sub-division.
He urged them to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out during enumeration and called upon officers under the sub-division to continuously support the census for successful and accurate enumeration.
