Bhumi Pujan held for ECHS Polyclinic Kohima

DIMAPUR: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure for the Ex‑Servicemen (ExSM) fraternity in Kohima and adjoining districts, the Station Commander, Zakhama Military Station, visited the ECHS Polyclinic, Kohima on Friday.
The visit included the Bhumi Pujan ceremony marking the commencement of construction of the permanent building of the polyclinic. The ceremony symbolised the beginning of a long‑awaited project aimed at enhancing quality and accessibility of healthcare services for Ex‑Servicemen and their dependants in the region.
Following the ceremony, the Station Commander inspected the polyclinic functioning from its temporary location at Sainik Bhawan. He reviewed the facilities, interacted with medical and administrative staff, and appreciated their dedication and professionalism in ensuring seamless relocation and uninterrupted healthcare services.
He also held discussions with the Director, Rajya Sainik Board, the Officer‑in‑Charge, ECHS Polyclinic Kohima, and staff members, acknowledging their collective contribution towards the welfare of the ExSM community.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families through the Ex‑Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). The upcoming permanent facility is expected to significantly strengthen medical infrastructure and provide improved healthcare services to the veteran community in Nagaland.
