The Bible society of India (BSI), Kohima branch and Dimapur auxiliary conducted a one day seminar under the theme “Bible for all” at Rengma Baptist Church, Kohima on Thursday.
President Nagaland Christian Revival Churches (NCRC) Rev. Dr. Neikedozo Paphino, in his address as one of the resource persons, said that Christians should consider prayer and fasting as the strongest weapon to face various challenges. He also told the Church workers and leaders that to serve the Lord effectively they should not depend on degrees, designations and experience except the power of the Holy Spirit.
Citing the example of David from the Bible who honoured king Saul, he reminded the gathering that no one should neglect or ignore anointed servants of God.
Executive director Angami Baptist church council Rev. Dr. Atsi Dolie in his address said Naga society was fast changing and with it came greater challenges for the Church. He said that the ugly menace of corruption, the disturbing news of demonic activities, rapes, kidnappings and murder were all unbecoming of a predominantly Christian populated society. Rev. Dr. Dolie stated that amid all the problems and challenges, the Church should continue to play a vital role in ministering to the deteriorating society.
Revered Dolie said in the face of overwhelming challenges, the Church faced two dangers–it could choose to shy away from the challenges, or drown in the problems. He challenged that the Church to rely on the prompting of the Holy spirit in areas that needed Church involvement but refrain from treading where it should not.
Sr. Auxiliary secretary Dimapur auxiliary Rev. Dr. Z.K. Rochill spoke on “What is the Bible society of India and how it started”, sr. director CRRM Bangaluru Dr. E Leelavathi Manassed spoke on “What is fund raising and Church relations.” Associate translation director, translation centre Shillong Rev. Dr. Along Jamir spoke on “What is Bible translation”.
The program was chaired by Keneipfhenuo Angami and Neileseii Tetseo, invocation prayer was said by associate pastor, women department RBCK, Senenle Apou. The introduction was led by Those Kraho president BSI Kohima branch. Various church leaders, members of BSI Kohima district, well-wishers and others attended the program.
