Big names in Ram Temple ‘theft’ case, govt may fall: Arvind Kejriwal

NEW DELHI, JUN 21 (AGENCIES): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday alleged that “big names” were involved in the purported theft of donations from the Ram Mandir and claimed that the government could fall if their identities were revealed.
In a post on X, Kejriwal said donations worth crores of rupees had allegedly been stolen from the temple and questioned why no FIR had been registered. He demanded strict action against those responsible, regardless of their status. In a video message, Kejriwal alleged that cash and valuables donated to the temple had gone missing and questioned the absence of action by investigative agencies. He claimed that cash worth around Rs 200 crore, along with boxes of diamonds and jewellery, had allegedly been stolen, but no FIR had been filed by the police or central agencies.
He further alleged that influential individuals were involved and asked whether protecting a government was more important than safeguarding the faith of millions of devotees.
The remarks come amid an ongoing probe into allegations related to temple donations. On Saturday, Hanuman Garhi head priest Mahant Sanjay Das expressed confidence in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and said the truth would emerge through the investigation. He urged people to wait for the findings and called for strict action against anyone found guilty.
AAP has been holding protests across Uttar Pradesh demanding action in the case. The state is due to hold Assembly elections early next year.
