
Government High School Diphupar has introduced biometric attendance system for teachers to check mal practices when the education department was grappling with teachers’ absenteeism in most of the Government High Schools.
Launching the biometric attendance system on April 3, headmaster GHS Diphupar, R. Nyimshio Lotha expressed the hope that new system would eliminate lapses in the attendance system and would ensure transparency and accountability among the teaching and non-teaching staff.
He informed that it was mandatory for all the employees to register their finger print in the biometric device.
Under the new biometric finger printing machine, the employees have to press the machine two times a day so that their finger print would be recorded in the machine. It would ensure punctuality, eliminate proxy attendance, track the employees working hour and enhance record efficiency, the head master said.
He further stated that the new system would improve the productivity and enhance the accountability of the teachers in executing their responsibilities.
He also said that by introducing biometric attendance system, the school has in the small way contributed towards digital India and e-governance.
