BJP announces candidate for WTC ward no. 8 by-election

WOKHA May 29 (NPN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland, organised a ticket distribution programme for the Wokha Town Council (WTC) Ward No. 8 By-Election 2026 at the District BJP Office, Wokha, on May 29.
During the programme, the BJP ticket was formally handed over to intending candidate, Mhomo Humtsoe, for the forthcoming WTC Ward No. 8 by-election.
Speaking at the programme, intending candidate Mhomo Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the party leadership for reposing faith in him and appealed for the support and cooperation of party leaders, workers and the public. He emphasised the importance of collective support from both the district and state party leadership and assured that, if elected, he would work with commitment and sincerity for the welfare of the colony, society and the party.
Former BJP candidate and State Council Member of BJP Nagaland, Renponthung Ezung, also addressed the gathering and extended his support to the intending candidate while encouraging party workers to remain united and work collectively for the forthcoming by-election.
Ezung expressed confidence that the candidate’s decision to contest the town council election was driven by a desire to serve the public. Describing the by-election as a “friendly contest,” he also expressed hope for a smooth, free and fair election process.
Earlier, a special prayer for the intending candidate was offered by Deacon of WTBC, Nrikhon Ngullie. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by secretary of BJP Wokha Unit, Khochobeni Odyuo.
