BJP announces new team of national office bearers

NEW DELHI, AUG 17 (AGENCEIS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today unveiled a revamped national structure under president Nitin Nabin, bringing back familiar faces and making changes to various party wings.
The appointments come as the BJP prepares for a series of elections and seeks to strengthen its organisation across states and social groups.
Among the key changes are the removal of Amit Malviya as IT Cell chief and Tejasvi Surya as president of the BJP’s youth wing. Deepak Mhaskey will lead the IT and social-media machinery, while Hemang Joshi takes over the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
Former Union minister Smriti Irani has returned to a central role as national general secretary, while former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also returned to the national organisational structure.

The party has placed special focus on the Northeast, with three leaders–one each from Tripura, Assam and Nagaland–finding space in the team. The North-East Coordination Cell will continue under Sambit Patra and joint coordinator Rajiv Babbar.
The BJP has appointed 13 national vice-presidents, eight national general secretaries and a new set of national secretaries, including Phangnon Konyak, K Surendran, Anil Antony and Sandeep Pathak. BL Santhosh continues as national general secretary (organisation), while Shivprakash and Saudan Singh have been appointed national joint general secretaries (organisation).
