Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP, Nagaland unit, has organized its membership drive at Wokha town in the resident of MLA Dr. TM Lotha on the theme “Make strong BJP build strong nation, Join BJP and make strong nation.”
Speaking at the function, BJP state membership drive convener, Y Yangkhose Sangtam elaborated on the principles of the organization. He said BJP is a party of the people and explained that it is a grassroot level based or cadre based party.
Elaborating on the state membership drive, he said the purpose of the primary and active membership drive is to strengthen the party and to capture the power in the state in the 2018 election. He said to enroll oneself as a primary member, one has to pay a membership fee of Rs 10 as passed by the State central committee/ body and to become an Active member one has to pay Rs 100.
Stating that the Communist party in China has 6.48 crore members, he said BJP government is determined to take its membership to 10 crores making it the party with the highest membership.
On social media, he further said young people in particular have to seize the opportunity to spread the message to as many people as possible and mobilize them to join the party. He said an active member of the party should go to their respective constituency and work for the betterment of the party for seven days.
State membership drive Co-convener, Senka Jami, also supplemented on the points stressed by the Convener.
The meeting was chaired by the general secretary administration Wokha district BJP, while the invocation was pronounced by Tssenchibemo Ngullie, Mandal president of BJP 37 Wokha A/C, and vote of thanks was pronounced by Liponthung Ezung, mandal president BJP 38 Wokha A/C.
