KOHIMA, AUG 10 (NPN): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland organised a two‑wheeler rally under the “Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra” initiative on Monday with the participation of 78 two‑wheelers.
The rally was flagged off from Eco Park, Kohima by minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, who attended the programme as the honoured guest.
Aimed at promoting national pride and encouraging citizens to display the Tricolour with respect, the rally proceeded from Eco Park to New Secretariat and back.
Speaking at the programme, Temjen Imna Along said the Tricolour represents national integration, national pride and the identity of every citizen. He noted that Nagaland was also taking part in the commemoration of the 80th Independence Day and called upon citizens to take pride in the national flag and honour it with dignity.
He further urged participants and citizens to ensure that the Tricolour does not become a source of littering after the celebrations, appealing to people to properly collect and preserve the flags, either by returning them appropriately or taking them home for respectful display.
The programme also featured a brief introduction by Eduzu Theluo, State vice president and convenor of the Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra Committee, following which Temjen Imna Along flagged off the rally.
The rally concluded at Eco Park after covering the designated route, with participants carrying the Tricolour as part of the campaign.
